Every Thursday, Radio Hispana 1470 hostess Liliana Garcia takes calls between 1 and 2 PM Pacific from her listeners on immigration issues. Joining her each week is a San Diego-area immigration lawyer. Today's guest was Lilia Velasquez. Some highlights of today's show were as follows:
* one caller who has an upcoming appointment to receive his legal residency was chagrined to find that appointment dates in Ciudad Juarez (where Mexican permanent resident visas are processed) have been set back several years.
* A caller who is buying a home and who is illegal was told by her real estate agent not to worry about immigration status and that he would put her down on the application as a US citizen. She called to ask if this was a good idea. Ms. Garcia told her to get a second opinion, and Ms. Velasquez told her to work with an agent who is honest.
* One caller from Tijuana who is seeking US legal residence was wondering if her use of public assistance in San Diego would affect her eligibility. She had crossed from Tijuana to San Diego to give birth to her child, and used Medi-Cal "only for a few days" while she was in the hospital. Her child is now 8 years old. Ms. Velasquez noted that the woman, as spouse of a legal resident, would not receive her visa for 7-8 years (assuming she applied today), and, by that time, it would have been 16 years since she used public assistance. Ms. Velasquz didn't think the use of Medi-Cal would affect her negatively since it wasn't a recent use of public assistance.

the hostess, to keep up with Liliana Garcia, would have to complain about all the forces that conspire against those who would rob banks and commisserate with those who have attempted and failed.
A Criminal Alien wants to buy a house? How could that happen? Does that happen?
Please add me to yer list. Thanks!

The Chicago Minuteman Project launches massive membership drive in response to
the July 1, 2005 Pro-illegal alien rally organized by radio talk show host Rafael Pulido, (a.k.a. el Pistolero), and known Islamic terrorist sympathizer Emma Lozano and a coalition of several special interest groups.
The Chicago Minuteman Project is a newly formed organization, (modeled and endorsed by the highly publicized and successful Minuteman Project of Arizona) and is actively seeking new members who are uniting in their fight against illegal immigration. The Organization is dedicated to maintaining US sovereignty by enforcement of existing Immigration laws and the closing of our US open borders.
By all recent polls, including an April 2005 poll by Fox News, 90% of Americans recognize the illegal alien issue as a serious problem, says Rosanna Pulido, co-founder of the Chicago Minuteman Project. Part of the solution is to educate the public about the politicians who do not uphold their oath of office; we can then elect officials who understand the profound negative economic and social impact of illegal immigration. In addition, we are committed to exposing corporations who are costing the taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars by not upholding the law regarding the hiring of illegal aliens. We need to impose the legal fines on them for breaking the law.
Rick Biesada, co-founder of The Chicago Minuteman Project, has researched and confirmed that taxpayers spend hundreds of millions of dollars each year on support services for illegal aliens. People no longer need to feel helpless about this problem. There is something we can do. The citizens of Illinois can become an educated and active part of the solution, says Rick.

I have been contacted by several Spanish media outlets THAT CONFIRM there will be well over 3000 in attendance to support illegals and denounce the Chicago Minuteman Project and other groups.
I talked to Fox News in New York today...they asked me to send them the details of what is going on.
also from today's program, Ms. Garcia said there's a lot of fraud taking place in the Hispanic community with real estate transactions. She says she's received a lot of calls from illegal homeowners who have been contacted by banks asking for valid SSN and/or proof of permanent residence. When they can't produce it, the bank takes the house back.

It's nothing new. Illegals often move several families into a house, rent out rooms and the garage. They will be mortgage-free long before the gringos they displace. It's one of the many factors that has been driving housing prices in LA.
Lilia won't be happy until the REST of Mexico has invaded us. Of course then she might be out of a job.
Jeff Katz on KNEW910 radio spent a week on this subject about two months ago.
Yes, Illegals are buying lots of homes and getting the mortgages to finance them. They evidently are given an ID number and can use Western Union receipts, electricity and gas bills, and phone bills as credit references. Every real estate salesman I have talked to in the last few years say that they are becoming a large part of the home owner market especially in California.
Protect our borders and coastlines from all foreign invaders!
