I call it a "Back Button." I'm amazed at the number people who claim they don't have one.

Data had a button on his back. It turned him off like switching off a light.


My wife and I occasionally poke our daughter's back looking for the off button.

She doesn't have one.

I don't remember Data having a back button. I thought his power switch was under the hinged lid on his head.

Didn't your kid come with a parts list? They don't have off buttons on their backs. Their off buttons are located on their ears. Their on buttons are located on their mouths. They cannot be interchanged. Pushing the button on the mouth only increases the speed and/or volume. Pushing the button on the ears confirms that they are off, and activates some other useless parts of the anatomy, like the scissor-carrying-hands, and the running-feet. Luckily, there is a master off switch for those parts. It's located in the pain receptors of the brain. Check your manual (aka Grandma.)
