I like the concept of the Lost Liberty Hotel, but you can't push a string, and you can't force a local govt to go after one of its most powerful and influential overlords. You might as well try to condemn the king's castle in medieval europe.

you can't force a local govt to go after one of its most powerful and influential overlords True. But you can raise enough media heat to make the hypocritical s.o.b. truly uncomfortable. I think maybe the Pubbies are beginning to get the hang of PR. I just saw a Howard Dean Scream Contest featured on Fox News. Even CNN and MSNBC will probably be forced to use it -- it's a great story.

True. But we are appealing to their GREED here. That is a lot more powerful a force than mere political opportunism. They'll sniff after the promise of more tax revenue like hounds.

The precedence has been set by the SC...it will take a carefully orchestrated (and financed) attempt. The the local government of Weare seems to be willing to entertain the idea. It may not succeed but it should make them flinch next time...

Matt,
If you jump through all of the loops, and carefully document every word uttered by both sides during the process there is always a way to get the job done.
The fine group of gentlemen we elected to represent us have provided all the tools. Whenever a group of people assemble for the purpose of harming others, the RICO statutes will most likely provide a way to resolve the conflict to the satisfaction of all except the perpetrators.
Try it, you will like it. I know it worked for me! :<)

I like the concept of the Lost Liberty Hotel, but you can't push a string . ... . You can, however, chop the string into short, seperate pieces. Alternately, the string can be braided with others like it to form a rope. And ropes can be very useful in such times.
