This is my Grandmothers Candy Dish. It sat on a table in her living room next to her chair for as long as I can remember. She had her holy eucharist blessed and sent to her from Poland. When my Grandmother passed away a few years ago this Candy dish with the eucharist was one of the things I took because It held fond memories. I have been holding onto this dish and her eucharist for many years. My husband and I are Moving soon and we need to downsize. I will also be selling My Grandfathers Old golf Clubs. It is my thought that things that hold fond memories of their owners hold parts of their spirits. Along with this dish and the eucharist will be included the history of my grandmother and the bowl. Please take this into a loving home that will appreciate both the bowl and its history.

Ebay promised to not allow the consecrated Host to be sold on ebay. I ahve contacted the seller and ebay. I am also not using ebay or PayPal until this is resolved for real.

I'm not even Catholic, and I find this sort of disrespect unbelievably tasteless.
My sympathies, friend.

She had her holy eucharist blessed and sent to her from Poland. This is a bogus claim. Anyone who is Catholic will know why.

It seems to me that a logical solution to this problem would be for you, and someone else who you trusted to begin bidding on this item.
Each of you then set your maximum bids to some enormous level, say $250,000.
That's not as good as getting ebay to pull it, but it is a solution.

Matthew 5:11-12
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you (falsely) because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Sittnick:
Surely, this must be some kind of mistake. It is sadly believable that a putative Catholic out there would actually have the temerity and lack of sense to sell the sacred flesh of Our Lord on eBay. What is unbelievable is that there is a priest in Poland who would consecrate the host at mass and then ship it to the U.S. This is an abominable misuse of the host. Any consecrated host not consumed at mass must be stored in the tabernacle, placed in a proper receptacle for distribution to the sick or shut ins or stored at an alter in a monstrance for adoration. Shipping it in an envelope to be displayed in a candy dish as some sort of talisman or lucky charm is, well it's almost too horrid to be described.

Yes I can not imagine any legitimate Church mailing a Blessed Communion wafer. Also why would it be broken?
And why would any devout Catholic ( which I am assuming the grandmother was) keep the Eucharist in a candy dish?
Your right something is rotten in Denmark.

The Catholic Faith teaches that a Communion Host validly consecrated by a validly ordained priest becomes the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, God.
This means that the consecrated Host should be treated with the utmost respect and honor. Selling it on-line would be a sacrilege.
On closer examination, and given the story, it might well be that what is for sale is not the Eucharist at all, but simply some Polish "blessed bread" that looks similar. Selling it would be silly, but not a sacrilege. (Blessed objects lose the blessing when they are sold.)
In any event, the ad says Eucharist, and ebay promised not to allow these things for sale, as it is easily as offensive to believing Catholics as racist and Nazi insignia are to blacks and those persecuted by Nazis (Jews, Gypsies, Poles, Ukrainians, priests, etc.).
So, if the object is the Eucharist, ebay broke their promise, and the seller is committing sacrilege. If the object is simply Blessed Bread, then the seller is making a false statement (perhaps unwittingly), but ebay is still guilty of breaking their promise.

Something reeks about this.
Who would have one's Eucharist "blessed" and sent to them?
One does not "own" a "Eucharist," later to be kept in a candy dish. This is weird. If her Grandmother was Catholic, she surely would have partaken in it weekly.
This seller obviously is confused, or does not remember what this is, or understand just what "a Eucharist" is.

It would simply get reposted or sold as a "second chance" item.

according to e-bay newly adopted policy, selling the Holy Eucharist is now against their rules.

Uh, the hosts are consecrated during the Eucharistic celebration, and once consecrated, they do not leave the confines of the church. (unless it's a priest visiting a shut-in, and even then I think they consecrate on sit)
This is a fraud.

Then do it again.
It depends on what your objective is. If it's simply to force ebay to pull it, and you don't care if this one get's sold because you can't get them to honor their word, then you're doing the right thing by trying to publicise.
However, if stopping the sale from being completed is a primary objective you may have to do some creative things. I suggested one, I'm sure there are others.
