I LOVE CALVIN & HOBBES!
"But then why are old paintings in color?! If the world was black and white, wouldn't artists have painted it that way?"
"Not necessarily. A lot of great artists were insane."

It's my fault.
I sued him for stealing my childhood, (I don't know how he recorded it all, but is obvious that he did!) and trying to hide it by putting a pseudonym in place of my name. He didn't even change my appearance!

They're all so well done; it's hard to choose one favorite. This one'll do:
Watterson's a genius.

One of my all time favorites. It's like explaining the world to a DimocRAT. You get the same look as Calvin on their faces. This one's for you AnnaZ.

Shame that Watterston holstered his pen. I always did like Calvin and Hobbes.
You and me both. I always thought that C&H had a LOT of potential for perhaps a "Calvin Grows Up" feature film (or TV series) where Hobbes is still his constant companion, but only comes to life when nobody can see him, sort of a Mr. Ed/I Dream of Jeannie/Harvey the Rabbit approach.
That could have been a LOT of fun!

Calvin and Hobbes is my favorite comic strip of all time. The imagination he embellished his characters with was outstanding. In fact, I used to subscribe to the LA Times, simply because they carried Calvin and Hobbes. Once they no longer carried it, my subscription was terminated.
Calvin and Hobbes had more wisdom and intelligence about the world in general than the entire editorial staff of the L.A. Times, including that flannel mouth Ron Brownstain or whatever his name is.

I'm laughing at your spelling of Philosophy
It's spelled "colostomy".One of my most memorable courses as an undergrad was a third year philosophy course. It was taught by a Jesuit priest (as an accounting major, I had but a few classes taught by priests), and 12 of the 14 students in the class were studying to be priests.
At first, I felt out of place in that environment, and discussed it with him. I remember his words to this day:
"With philosophy, it's not what you say, it's how you say it. Besides, philosophy is nothing but a bunch of bull$$$t."
Man, did I enjoy that class! It was the most rewarding "B" of my academic career. I worked my butt off to get that B, and enjoyed most every minute of it.
