I dread it, too--but we better start gathering all the ammunition we can find if we are gonna show people who she really is!

Instinctively Wrong
You, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God. Jude 1:20
Bible In One Year: Amos 7-9

Saul Gellerman, in his book How People Work, says, "Solving tough organizational problems may require counter-intuitive strategies." In business, counter-intuitive is a fancy way of referring to ideas that go against common sense.
Consultants who advocate such thinking are simply reinforcing the advice of Jesus. Over and over, He urged His followers to do what God said was right, not what desire, instinct, and intuition told them to do. Desire says, "I want it." Jesus said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35). Instinct says, "Me first." Jesus said, "The last will be first, and the first last" (Matthew 20:16). Intuition says, "I'll feel better if I get revenge." Jesus said, "Do good to those who hate you" (Luke 6:27). Wanting something doesn't make it good. Achieving something doesn't make it valuable. And having strong feelings about something doesn't make it right. As Jude wrote, those who follow their own desires and instincts lead others into conflict and division (1:18-19). The alternative is to be spiritual, which means doing what does not come naturally. In fact, it requires supernatural strength that only God can give. Julie Ackerman Link
More about Jesus would I know, More of His grace to others show, More of His saving fullness see, More of His love who died for me. Hewitt
You can trust your instincts when you are trusting Christ.

Thanks, Mayor, for your usual inspiring words.
"Love does no wrong to a neighbor; love therefore is the fullfilment of the law."...Romans 13:10
Hope you are enjoying some cooler weather this week! Have you finished that roof you were working on? How is the campaign coming along?

Clearly another billie "masterpiece". Couldn't believe how quickly AND brilliantly she put it together!!!!! (I just gave her that last line of John's essay and voila!!!!) Thanks again billie! LOL! You are welcome. But last night I was so frustrated because I didn't save what I was working on while I finished dinner and ate. I had the graphic all put together, but not saved because there were a couple of tweaks to make. Came back after dinner and pc had 'locked up'. Not only did I not have the graphic in it's 'untweaked' version - also had to cut out each of the dims and put into one group and vignette that with the plane, which also I had not saved. :( It could have been better. :(

We have broked records with the heat, hottest june since 1966. I beleive it.
This weekend we will be getting ready for the 4th parade.
I am putting my van in all decorated with flags and campaign material.
I will be playing "Eye of the Tiger" on a pa system....
Remember that song, theme from Rocky III..

I am sure glad you finished the roof without having a heatstroke! Now it will probably cool off! LOL! Hottest June?
Global Warming ooooooo--Bush's fault!
You gotta take pictures of your van all dressed up for the parade--post it--with "Eye of the Tiger" posted with it! That would be perfect! Be sure to have lots of stuff to hand out to people--want you to win!

Hi Rus... So glad to see your daily devotional. I got started late this morning... (long story). Didn't realize how much I missed your cup of coffee and devotional to start my day.
This weekend we will be getting ready for the 4th parade. I am putting my van in all decorated with flags and campaign material.
Mr. D. will be in parades also. I remember his first race (where he was the grassroots guy running against the "party favorite incumbent".) His law partner had two darling Logan and Christian ages kids (but girls). We borrowed a red convertable, decorated in red white and blue and they were carrying "lady liberty" torches. Wish I could find the pictures...
P.S. Make sure to have good candy to throw out (or sigh...is that now banned in New York too????)

Very nice, Rus! That must have taken a while to put together that rather large flag! Looks like you had plenty of people riding with you. Were they handing out flyers and stuff? Thanks for showing us that one.

Yes we had a bunch of people, it was fun.
The flag took 2 weeks to make, it was 5 X 7
We took 3rd place, if it hadn't been a political float we would have won 1st!
That is what the judges told me. I have done 3 floats and placed with all 3..

"Give libs enough Rove, and they'll hang themselves"LOL, isn't that the truth!
As Durbin spewed his treasonous words, I heard nothing from my Senators, Clinton and Schumer. Rove speaks the truth and my Senators are appalled. President Bush is protecting all of us, including the liberals, whether they like it or not. The dems disgust me.
Great essay, JH2. Great presentation, dutchess
Cheers to President Bush, Rove, JH2, dutchess and all the wonderful, patriotic freepers
Have a great holiday weekend.

Now you've got me worried about that little project with the graphic. lol
Your graphic looks fine, it summed things up well. Good idea!
BTW...where is the tool that makes the colored edge in PE?
To: deadhead
Love the fireworks graphic and the way it makes an American flag at the end.

"Love the fireworks graphic and the way it makes an American flag at the end."That was my favorite part of it when I found it, the American flag at the end :-)
