Interesting, but not at all surprising that they only selected "white and conservative" families to display as racist, homophobic, and intolerant. There is more than an ample supply of bigotry and intolerance on the other side, but that is ignored at best, or sanctioned at worst.

Typical conservative bashing from ABC.

Pulled it because of 'right bashing'??/ Nah...actually Ringling Bros. wanted equal time and it was getting out of hand.

Interesting saw the trailer (is that what they are called for TV shows?) and they had some old man talking about how he won't tolerate homosexuals living next to him. Then they flashed to the homosexuals, and their adopted baby.
What a complete load of BS the only thing that could possibly be garnered from it is the knowledge of a conservative neighborhood in Austin. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some packing to do. ;)

A week or two ago, there was an interesting article posted on FR by a mathematician who devised some models regarding societal behavior. I believe the article was primarily focused on some lost Indian tribe in Arizona, but he applied his model to other societies.

The interesting thing was that he build a model where each individual family doesn't necessarily want to live in a homogeneous neighborhood, but they do want to live near X number of people like themselves.

When he ran the model, every single time it resulted in neighborhoods that were mostly homogeneous - not because of racism, but because that's what eventually happens over time. The amount of time varies depending on the initial mix of the neighborhood, and how many similar families a given one wants around it, but it shows that homogeneous neighborhoods are not necessarily the result of racism, but instead of the simple desire to live near some people similar to yourself.

Consider their thought processes. The prime choices are white, middle class, healthy marriage family with children.

These are the people who need an attitude adjustment. Not the homosexuals. Not the black family. Not the Hispanic family. Not the poor white family.

All the above are apparently well adjusted, non-judgemental, achievers who are pillars of the community.

Why not choose one of these groups to pick a neighbor...say in San Francisco, New York City's Upper East Side, or South Chicago...mebbe Brookline in Boston...

in which families asked to pick a new neighbor are made to expose and overcome their biases

Maybe we could start a television series on how ABC/ OLD MEDIA needs to pick conservatives as anchors to "expose and overcome their biases".

When we bought our home we bought it because we liked it and our neighbors. It's really none of ABC's damn business why I live where I live and associate with who I associate with. Most people have biases and want to be around people like themselves. DUH!

So the premise of the show was conservatives picking which socialist family gets a FREE home? Sheeesh, perhaps they're re-working it to involve the Souter decision and how some Indian Tribe will confiscate the big homes of the White people to build casinos.

Archie Bunker decades ago. No news here. It's SOP and has been for as long as I can remember.

Then they flashed to the (white) homosexuals, and their (black) adopted baby.

Can you just imagine the uproar from the self-proclaimed leaders of the black community if this were shown on TV.

How about visiting high school cafeterias or college dorms, and observing whom those young people, indoctrinated to be diverse, inclusive, tolerant and multicultural, choose to associate with.

With their own kind.

But then, natural law is never accepted by liberals or children. At least not until it hurts enough.

Interesting that an upper class Chinese or Indian family weren't part of the mix.

At my college, the blacks literally sit by themselves in one corner of the cafeteria....together. Maybe one will sit elsewhere with a "white table."

It isn't that we are racist. It is that people tend to assocciate with peole they are like.

Much like the different majors tend to sit together or like cliques sit together in HS, we tend to form by race.

Now, the one thing that sometimes gives more diversity is when the athletes sit together as athletes. It is much more diverse then....whites and blacks together. But, that does not happen all the time.

Maybe we can figure out a way to put some of these people as neighbors for these ABC producers. Oh, and film them getting all happy about it to boot.

Not only "right-bashing", but race-baiting as well. I would have thought better of ABC, even though they are a liberal haven.

ABC is run by libs who hate conservatives and people of faith. This show was all about demonizing the values that made this country strong. Tolerance for liberals means to accept all that is evil and perverted whild discriminating against all that it is good and right.

How about a flaming couple in SanFrancisco having to choose between a Traditional Roman Catholic family, an Evangelical family, an Orthodox Jew, a Mormon, and a poor liberal?

How about putting a true Christian family (of any ethnicity) next door to ABC producers?
