I used to give Charlie Rangel credit for at least having the courage to appear on shows like Hannity and others to express his warped views. But he's really gone off the deep end lately. His "performance" yesterday with Scott Hammond (sp?), filling in on Hannity's radio show, was pathetic. Hammond really had Rangel for lunch.
I'm truly disgusted with that Korean war vet.

I'm certain Elder meant the House there, rather than the Senate. (He was elected to the House in '71; 2 x 17 = 34; 1971 + 34 = 2005.) :)

No matter how fancy he dresses or how much time he takes making himself look pretty, Rangel looks like a bum.
It's that inner ugliness of a miserable soul slithering through.

A dust mite has a higher IQ than Rangel.

Let's think about this...
What Durbin, Rangel, Moore, or any other looney leftist says just turns the attention exclusively on the negative. The left has NOTHING constructive to promote. They have NO agenda. All they ever do is lie and bitch about BUSH and what BUSH is doing. The MSM follows their lead or vise versa and that makes the news of that paticular day.
It's my contintion we need to just start ignoring this tactic instead of condeming what they say, just ignor it. There is no way the America people are falling for this crap and by mostly ignoring these idiots the focus will no longer center around what lunacy comes out of their pieholes!
The repubs need to start setting the focus. They need to come out in droves and start accentuating what is happening positively...Let the WINNERS drive the agenda!

I suppose he meant to say House. A term in the House is 2 years but you know that. So, that makes 34 years in the House. Way to long, anyway. Good catch by the way. I blew right by that.

I understand what you're saying, but I disagree that their accusations should simply be ignored. No one can prove a negative, yet if you allow yourself to continually be portrayed in an erroneous manner while not defending yourself, the erroneous things said about you become the truth.
I believe we should challenge their accusations head-up, and then redirect the discussion to our agenda. That should be very easy to do.

Ignore what they say, just save the tapes for election time and contrast them history.

All one has to do is listen to Charlie Rangel for two minutes to observe how vicious, deranged and detached from reality the man has become. His grip on the truth left him a long time ago, if he indeed ever had one.

I believe we should challenge their accusations head-up, and then redirect the discussion to our agenda. That should be very easy to do.The stupidity of Durbin's statement was so outrageous by responding to it for days puts the focus where the dems want not where the repubs want. That's what the dems have to have happen because they have no agenda, they control the discourse. I'm saying we need to start controling it.
I'm not saying we shouldn't respond, but some of this is just so ridiculous it doesn't deserve the time of day, and keeping it infront of the public by responding endlessly only bolsters your point about erroneous things becoming truth...not because your defending yourself against them, but because it keeps on being brought up!

If I am not mistaken Rangel was caught stealing from the Apollo Theater in Harlem and is forbidden to ever be on their Board of Directors again.

I enjoyed his show yesterday. The children of the Iraqi that was killed was very touching. Made me very proud of the American people.
To: EmilyGeiger
I thought Scott did a wonderful job, and you're right about the Iraqi children. Just hearing those two soldiers getting choked up talking about Mr. M and his family made me misty-eyed.
