A month or so ago fr had a great thread on the Israeli fence with the sensors, drive around road, barbed wire, doubled, cameras, it is nearly fail safe. That's what we need. It will cost 6-8 billion to do the whole mexicon border but worth every penny IMHO.<<<<

Excellent! Maybe we need to send an article about this to President Bush? Think he'd take action? (I dont)

Came across this once:

The possessive of it is just its
But its usage gives people the fits.
They expect to see
An apostrophe.
But you shorten it is when it's it's.

"Why are you giving liberals ideas anyway? "

All you have to do is go down and look - the remains of rotting mattresses are covering the fence wire already -
( Obviously you do not know of what you speak )

How many billions more to protect against the tunnels that have been and are being dug under the border ?

That's what I say! Fail Safe!

And it can be done. In fact, I bet it could be done using private funds, and a force using a lot of volunteer labor.

2 Concrete walls, 25 yards apart with razor wire at the top. Sensors of all kinds in the space between, which is to be wall to wall conrete. Electric shocks and whatever else it takes.

The only entrance to the us across the border should be at strategic entrance gates.

Why is this so difficult a concept for some.

How soon before they come up with accusations of mishandling, torture, and general disrespect of the Koran? Oh wait, that ploy doesn't work in Mexico...

Correct, they use it for the barbed wire - electrified or not it will still work. But it would be entertaining to watch the border lighting up as they toss rebar and scrap metal on it until the power blows. ( oops, gee I suppose I just told all those cows a big secret again ... )

"You are a HOOT to post to! ;.) "

Thanks ! As Jim puts it " And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah! "

I pass through the border quite often, and it always seems like there has to be some better way - not too many years ago there were towns where the border was in the middle of the street, and no one worried about it much.

I'd much prefer a cracking down on the companies that hire them - take away the incentive to come, by punishing the Americans who are breaking the law.

As for the illegals - Catch'em when you can, and deport'em when you catch'em. ALL of them, no waiting, no excuses.

"How many haven't been caught?"

Oh, surely the crack Mexican frontera policia have caught all those folks trying to jump the border. You can't seriously be implying otherwise. /blistering sarcasm
