EBENSBURG, Pa. A woman pleaded guilty to causing the death of her 15-month-old son, whose severe diaper rash led to a fatal infection. Amy Livingston (search), 27, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the boy's death and to child endangerment for not treating the rash on another son. Her son, Harley, died in December of sepsis and dehydration. His brother, Hunter, 4, was successfully treated. Doctors testified at the mother's preliminary hearing that the baby could have survived with basic care, prosecutor Trysh Sutton (search) said. Livingston's mother is awaiting trial on a child endangerment charge alleging that as a day-care provider, she failed to report suspected neglect or abuse of the two boys. Judge F. Joseph Leahey (search) said prosecutors have not recommended a penalty for Livingston, who is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 30.

On, no, wait. That would be cruel, right?
So... a little bottle of baby powder can save lives. Who knew?
A 4 year old with diaper rash ... hmmmmmmm ...
I can't believe the stories of neglect I have been reading. What the hell is wrong with these people? How hard is it to treat a diaper rash for god sake? I have no words left. I just shake my head and go on to the next insane story. There seems to be a never ending supply of them out there.
The worst case of diaper rash that one of my children had was while she was in the hospital.
Ditto.
How stupid can some people get?
I really, sincerely believe that not everyone should be a parent...just because you have the right equipment, or are married or whatever.
These stories just kill me. Being a parent is a blessing! Not something to be taken lightly.
She'll get off with a slap on the rist- NOW will be protesting if a women is sent to prison for murdering an innocent child. The libs are pure evil.
Guess she can't claim she didn't have access to affordable medical care, either.
In lean times, we've skimped on "necessities" to pay for better care than this for our animals.
