Clinto said in Houston former First Lady Barbara Bush "announced us. And she said she has started to call me son. I told the Republicans there, I said don't worry, every family has one, you know, the black sheep. I told them, this just shows you the lengths the Bushes would go to get another president in the family. I wish I could get them to adopt Hillary."
Well you must have really tossed your cookies reading about Billy Graham's tongue bath with both Bill and Hillary last week.
Truth is, conservative principles just don't mean the same thing to the elite as they might to you or me. Fine slogans and a terrific way to reach voters, but not a good thing to allow to regulate one's social calendar.
Then don't look.
Testimony to the proposition that we should be looking for a Third Party political outsider in 2008.
Their only mutual interest is fudging on their golf score cards. :-)
It disturbs me, too. H.W. doesn't seem to have any more discernment than to haul bill clinton around like the family pet. What's to stop someone seemingly so devoid of common sense than from one day opening a can of motor oil and pouring it on his Corn Flakes?. Really.
Just another disgraceful moment. This just shows what we are up against. I have this eerie feeling that Hillary is going to SLITHER to the center and not being sure that the Republicans will muster up a strong candidate she may take the White House. A Cheney/Guiliani ticket might be the only chance that we have, and Cheney said he has no intention to run, and Guiliani says he loves the private sector.
Beez-a-bubba is a black sheep alright!
Does it hurt Hillary or help Hillary? How many people actually believe Bill and Hill are still together? Can Bill keep his ego in check so his "wife" can run?
I think Bill will be Hillary's worst enemy during the election.
WTF!!! Its been said politicians are accentually all alike and this friendship between the Clintons and Bushes seems to prove it.
41 & Barbara don't seem to be bothered by what the Clinton say or do to harm their son's presidency and this country!
I am a cynic when it comes to politics; therefore, this is how I view this whole relationship:
The Clintons dont like anybody but themselves. Their friendships are based on using people for their own gain whom they later dump. What is there to gain from the Bush friendship? Clinton wants to be Secretary General of the UN and will need President Bushs support. Should he achieve this, Clinton will never speak to the Bush family again.
What is there to gain from the Clinton friendship? Just another friend. The Bush family asks nothing in return.
Because it does not matter now. He has already been elected to a second term. They cannot hurt him, politically.
This book really identifies exactly who and what Hillary really is and how manipulative, demanding and controlling she is.
We can't let Hillary become the first Lesbian President!
Bush and Clinton go waaaaaaaay back....back to their days of business in Arkansas.
No we have to keep voting Republican so we can win the White House then things will turn around, oh wait that didn't work...we have to keep voting Republican so we can keep the House of Rep. then things will turn around, nope that didn't work either...we have to keep voting Republican so we can 'win back the Senate' then things will turn around...darn it, running out of catchphrases for reasons to keep voting Republican....
Yes, they are rehabilitating Bill's image. By rehabilitating Bill's image, they are helping Hillary get elected. Perhaps Savage's original claim after the Clinton library opening that they are going to install Hillary next is not as far fetched as I originally thought.
Funny, that's just the strategy that got Clinton elected in '92 to begin with. I'm sure it's an option that Hillary is pursuing, likely with the witless help of McCain.
Huh???? 2008 is 3 years away!
The democrats take their orders from Hillary, not Reid and not Dr. Mean.
The President can't even get his U.N. Ambassador confirmed and you say they can't hurt him politically.
-have another cup of coffee and reevaluate that-
OH! And the Bushes are stupid and do not realize this. They will help Bill get in the UN, and Hillary get in the White House. Yeah, the Bushes have become quite successful being used by establishment liberal democrat out of the kindness of their hearts. I'm starting to feel better now.
It always seems like the Republicans are just a few party members short of "pushing through their agenda."
First it was, oh if when win the Presidency then we can push through out agenda. Bush got elected, but the Senate was still even. Then Jeffords jumped and they need more Senators to "push through their agenda." Then they went up to 52 Senators, but it was the RINOs holding them back. Now with 55 Senators they now need 60. Of course if they got 60, then they'd need 65 to account for RINOs.
It's like the Republicans are holding a carrot stick out in front of us. Many have abandoned conservative principles because they think going to the center will keep them in power. I guess they never learned from 1992.
The failure of the Democratic party is bad for conservatives. When there is no reasonable opposition, there is nothing to keep the Republicans in check.
