Thank you for posting this. I must admit that I have intentionally resisted reading this book despite being given a copy by a relative. My thinking was that this book was some faddish, Christian pop-culture thing, and I'm more into Philip Yancey, but this post clearly shows me wrong. This is where I have been traveling spiritually.

I do believe that at this time God is drawing Christians closer to Himself. Perhaps a reawakening is brewing, or perhaps persecution is nearing, we do not know, but there is great joy abiding in His presence.

As I stated, I will read this book during the summer. A couple days ago I started Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen. I have listened to him a few times on the tube. He comes on right after Fox News Sunday, at 1000. What I like about him is he does not beg and badger for money. He also seems sincere. Osteen also seems to echo C.S. Lewis - basically stating that even if you do not feel it now, start talking to God and giving Him favor, and God will in turn give you favor.
