I LIVE in Houston. It doesn't make me uncomfortable, it makes me PISSED OFF! When my grandparents came to this country, they made their children speak English all the time because they knew that's how they would become successful.
This is not about going to Epcot and walking through the various countries as a "cultural experience" this is destroying OUR American culture. I honor my Polish and Italian heritage, but I don't expect signs to be in Polish because I won't learn English and won't assimilate into American culture.

Every study that I have seen (and there have been several posted on FR) show that Hispanics are learning English as fast as any past immigrant group.

Houston will always be an international city but no one is forcing you to participate in any international events, not even the rodeo which is an Hispanic cultural event or the bar-b-que cook-off, also of Hispanic origin.
