The prez and I probably don't have the same views on illegal immigration, but I see him as an honest man and I doubt his views are nefarious or politically motivated. I'm proud to have him as my prez.

Awful strong language for a NEWBIE.
Everyone on this site has a right to their opinion, without being insulted, and an insult coming from a NEWBIE is not looked at favorably by most Freepers. Lighten up!

O.K. Bush is a LIAR on this issue. Need it again? Bush is a LIAR on this issue. One more time: Bush is a LIAR on this issueOk, einstein, I'll bite. What was the lie and what is your basis for concluding it was a lie? Better be specific. I have no patience for hotheaded jerkoffs.

Gee, thanks for the links. This is NOT what our troops are fighting for. Why can't we get a President, or any politician for that matter, that actually repsects the constitution?
To: hinckley buzzard
I'll start with one of the biggest lies:
"Immigrants do the work American's won't do."--as if to say illegal immigrants do not displace American workers. This is a bald face lie--just ask the illegal aliens working at the San Diego Shipyard doing contract work on U.S. Navy ships.
Here's another:
"I don't support amnesty.."trying to defend his non-amnesty amnesty(guest worker) plan.
And how about the lie he told to the face of the widow of murdered L. A. sheriff deputy David March when he told her how "we ought to get that guy", referring to March's murderer now living free in Mexico, giving the false hope that he would actually try to do something.

Awful strong language for a NEWBIE. Well this "old timer" didn't particularly care to hear our side calling the President a liar nor the comment
"This is another good reason to be very suspicious of Bush and his motivations with the immigration issue. Deception is wrong. Especially from mister "born again" Christian."

RINO,
- CFR passage.
- Putting pen to paper for a 400+ Billion(now admitted 700+ billion), Medicare bill.
- Going to bat to make sure the Supremes Okayed the University of Michigan's law school Affirmative Action policy.
- No child left behind.
- Okaying 1 Billion Taxpayer Dollars for Illegals.
- Gonzales appointment.(La Raza member).
- Only authorizing 200 new BP agents when he promised 2000.
If I didn't know better I would swear the above was passed by a Lib. You mentioned on another thread that we had different ideas as to what a Conservative was, and you are 100 percent correct.
My Idea of Conservatism is less Government, less taxes, Pro-Military, Pro-Family, Pro-American not Pro-Illegals and for the Government to keep its friggen hands out of my pocket. Yours on the other hand, well lets just say your posts speak for themselves.

Whatever you may think a conservative is, you cannot possibly call the Republican President, Republican National Committee, and Republican Congressional leadership RINOs.
They are the real Republicans by definition, those opposed to them are RINOs by definition.

ahhh. The fatal flaw of politics today. Just because someone is a Republican, does not make them a Conservative.
Pres JFK would be a good Republican today. Or, Pres GWB would have been a "good" Democrat in FDR's days.

Just to refresh your memory, the following is from this discussion thread,
The Link,
To: bayourod
The real John Cornyn,
The following is from his PDF file on his site, I will post a link at the bottom of this page.
- Expanded access to healthcare services for children, pregnant women, undocumented immigrants, in rural areas and other underserved communities
- Support funds for 1200 new or expanded Community Health Centers over five years, including 170 centers in 2003, which will provide services to a million more patients.
- Ensure that Texas receives its fair share of Community Health Center funds. Texas accounts for 11% of the nation's uninsured but gets only 6% of the program's funds.
- Expand the National Health Services Corps to hire and train bilingual, professional health "promotoras" to go door-to-door in underserved areas. The program would also include scholarships and loan assistance to encourage doctors, nurses, dentists, and mental health clinicians to practice in under-served communities. Cornyn also supports exempting loan repayment under the program from federal income tax.
- Support federal legislation, including a revised and extended Welfare Reform Act, to allow states and localities to remove restrictions on what healthcare services can be provided to illegal immigrants with federal funds, thereby expanding immigrants access to primary and preventive care.

He's also a U.S. Senator from a state that is 40% Hispanic. Would you prefer him to take a hard anti-Hispanic stance and Texas be represented by a Barbara Boxer instead?
Cornyn will be a key player in getting good Supreme Court nominees through the Judicial Committee because he won his election.

If that's the way you feel you should go back to your BIO and remove the word conservative. Because no conservative I know would ever want the following,
Support federal legislation, including a revised and extended Welfare Reform Act, to allow states and localities to remove restrictions on what healthcare services can be provided to illegal immigrants with federal funds, thereby expanding immigrants access to primary and preventive care.

We may disagree on the definition of conservative but there can't be any disagreement that Cornyn is a U.S. Senator.
Winning candidates govern, not the ones who lose.

The survey asked illegal aliens whether they had heard of a U.S. government amnesty plan for illegal aliens (61 percent had) and whether the amnesty plan influenced their decision to cross the border (45 percent answered that it did).Dubya Bush will have two legacies:
His international red-light WoT policy.
And his green-lighting a domestic illegal invasion policy.

I agree with you. It seems that some people can't be satisfied with anything. Crab, crab, crab. Don't be happy with what you get, push for more and more and expect your pres to be 100 percent perfect, even though these people crabing are not doing anything about the problems they are bitching about.

He argued in favor of a guest worker plan in the Presidential debates in 2000 and 2004. For Tancredo the RINO to now say that Bush triggered an immigration wave in 2004 is disingenuous.Bush made his formal request to Congress for his not-an-amnesty amnesty in January 2004. That was far and away the biggest publicity it had received by that point.
What about Tancredo's own guest worker bill that he introduced in 2002. Someone could just as easily accuse him of encouraging illegal immigration.
Given that his guest worker plan would have excluded people who were in the country illegally, such an "accusation" would be laughable, at best. Not that that's ever stopped you.

You guys are the ones who are bellyaching up a storm. Just look at all of you. Not one of you is actually trying to defend the President's actions on this (except b-rod, and he's not doing a terribly competent job). What should that tell any neutral observer?

You know what though? I'M a Republican...or used to be. I'm not sure what I am anymore. I worked my butt off for President Bush in 2004. Today, I sent the RNC their "Urgent" fudnraising letter back and told them don't bother asking me for any more money until they grow a pair. Do you have any idea how BAD the illegal situation is in the South? I went up to the store today and as I was walking by a Payless shoe store, I noticed that the signage on the outside was in Spanish! No English, just friggin' Spanish!
My MIL who is of legal Mexican descent says that things have gotten so bad in Brownsville, that doctors in Matamoros are crossing into the US, applying for federal benefits and then go back to Mexico and live off my hard-earned money!
Bush has done NOTHING about this. It makes me sick. It's like a friend who betrays you, and you are just left with an emptiness. I've come to realize that Bush's handling of 9/11 was just a blessed fluke. He can't seem to govern his way out of a paper bag. =(
To: bayourod
Whatever you may think a conservative is, you cannot possibly call the Republican President, Republican National Committee, and Republican Congressional leadership RINOs.The Republicans have the majority in the House, Senate and the White House. If things go bad it is their fault. They talk like Republicans but that act/vote like Democrats. They are fighting a war in Iraq but letting illegal aliens in at the border by the millions. I was on the BC04 team and I am now officially OFF the cool aid express. 2006 is going to be a tough year for Republicans/RINO's.
