Hey Watson (to my Sherlock), when there's money in making the Bible into a movie they'll do it.

That was true in the past. But, not now. A positive depiction of Christianity is pretty much anathema in the movie industry. Otherwise, Mel Gibson would not have had to pay his own way. Due to the monetary success of The Passion, ordinarily there would have been an avalanche of me-too, positive, Christian-themed films as well. There have been none to speak of.
There is.
Several movies based on Jesus were box office hits including the most recent "passion of christ" which, is already among both the highest revenue and highest profitable movies of all time.
No studio is currently even in the planning stages of making a similiar film.
The only flop movie about Jesus in the last 25 years was "The last temptation of christ" which horrified the very the market that would normally have flocked to it.
Even NBCs epics about Jesus and "AD" were highly rated.
