Out of curiosity, have you actually seen the movie yet? She has, and I'm inclined to believe her that the movie will contain plenty of not-so-subtle political overtones that have little to do with the fictional novel. Spielberg is definitely a leftie, and it would be par for the course for Hollywood.

I have not seen the movie, and I have no doubt that contains a great many jabs at the politics of today. However, in order to maintain some credibility with complaints, it's important that we not overreact, but instead target those areas in which we know we have some valid complaint.

What I read in her column was, in large, a brief overview of my recollection of the book, but she was treating it as new material.

I would hope that a right-sided movie reviewer will see the movie, describe the original political intent of Speilberg, and then rip the movie apart by pointing out the obvious hypocrisy. Shouldn't be that hard. Many items have already been pointed out- two by me, and I haven't even seen the movie yet!
