Yes, true. Now if you nuked Eastern Syria, and told them the next mushroom would appear over what would used to be downtown Damascus, then you would have a much more profitable result, don't ya think? Shoot Syria might just decide to close its borders kinda like ASAP, and might even send some agents to kill ole Zarqawi too.

Marines said they killed dozens of insurgents in that operation, but they also destroyed much of the town of 60,000 with air strikes and street-to-street battles before abandoning it at the end of the five-day operation. Ah, the old "we had to destroy the town in order to save it routine".
It would appear we are expanding the (non)war without increasing troop strength.
