You can't use your own sitution, which turned out well, to justify embroiling thousands of other children in mortal sin (receiving Holy Communion out of the state of grace).
The exceptionality of your own sitution points to how fraught with difficulty the whole subject of breaching this discipline is.
I understand your point. However, there are many others with similar stories. It is very difficult situation. I am not objective because of my personal experience. But I strongly believe that all children deserve religious education even if their parents don't. Children are far too precious to give up on so easily.
