I will say that Cuba does apparently have better immigration controls that the United States.
Ironic, that, on so many levels.

I say any "El Presidente" who has to routinely give 4-5 hour speeches to prove how "important" they are is a knife and a spoon short of a full place setting....

"...When you're in Cuba you have no rights whatsoever."No sh*t! Sanctimonious Canuckleheads will be shocked to hear this. Shocked, but unaffected.
Somehow, they'll manage to affix the blame on George W. Bush.

She should be thankful that she got to see the real Cuba. She saw the Cuba that most tourists don't get to see.

This must be Bush propaganda. It is Gitmo where this occurs, not the peoples paradise. How on earth did this escape the media censorship?
I expect a retraction as soon as Kennedy, Rangel, Conyers and Boxer hear that Canadians have actually experienced reality.

So this woman is okay with everything that goes on in Cuba until she gets the tiniest taste of what it's like to live in a communist police state -- and all of a sudden she's got a problem with Castro?

It's really "interesting" living here in Canada -- they have all these ads (on tv, paper, radio) extolling how nice it is to visit Cuba, but, honestly, these people here in Canada really haven't a CLUE what Cuba is all about....the media echos the Canadian government policy towards Cuba (allowing tourism, economic help and the like) -- TOTALLY the opposite of the US's policy....I can't help but wonder if Canada just allows tourism ON PURPOSE as it is just another way of "tweaking" the US....

I can't muster up much sympathy for canucks and Eurotwits who INSIST on vacationing in Cuba. I guess the rest of the Caribbean is not sufficiently socialist to suit their tastes.

Somehow, they'll manage to affix the blame on George W. Bush. I'm sure the problem stems from our embargo, and from our harsh rhetoric toward the peace-loving Cuban government.

She married a foriegn diplomat at the age of 19 to get the hell out of Cuba, goes back several times, and is suprised to be arrested and jailed?

In many ways it IS very akin the "the blind leading the blind" up here in Canada....this week "same-sex" legislation will most likely pass in Canada -- making it the law of the land....'tis very, very sad....

And, they just have better criminal justice all around. In Cuba, a villan can be executed just six DAYS after the end of his trial. That's efficient!!

Aren't you being a little bit picky? I understand that he recently gave every Cuban housewife a free rice cooker for mother's day.
