Al Jaafari seems like a fine person and has written a fine article. I hope we in the West find a way to aid him. But - and I say this meaning no disrespect to anyone - today is unlike the end of WWII, Iraq is unlike Western Europe or Japan, and George Marshall is dead.
The Marshall Plan was the most forward-thinking foreign policy ever created. Granted, I am a little biased since Marshall is a fellow alumnus of my alma mater. He was VMI '1901.
