I once belonged to a church where the pastor was very afraid to stand up and voice his opinion on anything (think U.S. Senate). And, then, sometime in 1998, he said from the pulpit that "Bill Clinton's America is no worse than, or different from, Ronald Reagan's America."
I gave him a few choice words as I left the church building that day and never went back.
