I'm so sorry for your heartbreaking loss and their's. It is startling what can happen in the blink of an eye when children are involved.
I wasn't married into the family at the time.. they tried to have a second child and he was stillborn. I know, it's almost unbelievable. They did try again and now have a nearly 4 year old son (he was born in 2001). They're doing alright... she's out of the Army (health reasons) and he didn't re-up...he works in the National Guard now.
