So true, makes me cringe everytime I hear the phrase "separation of church and state".

The text below was taken from the link I provided on post #72. This guy is so right on!

"What's the difference?" Feder asked. "Was one constitutional because it was on the outside and the other unconstitutional for being inside?"

Feder observed: "What seemed to particularly enrage the court's majority was a proclamation by the counties that their monuments were intended to emphasize 'America's Christian heritage.' According to the Court, this clearly showed the displays 'religious intent.'"

"America's Christian heritage? Who do the honorable justices think started America? Were the Pilgrims Buddhists, the Puritans Zoroastrians? Was our Constitution written by secular humanists?" Feder inquired.

"The Court's majority continues to promote the great fiction that America just sort of happened. In fact, the greatest nation on earth was the end result of nearly 3,000 years of Judeo-Christian history. If not for the epic encounter at Sinai, there would have been no 13 colonies, no Declaration of Independence, no United States Constitution and no justices sitting in a chamber decorated with a frieze of Moses carrying the Ten Commandments tablets."

Aqua.. remarkable the SCOTUS ruling so close to your post. What is the matter with those SC dummies... don't they read your threads???????

Frustrating to be sure..

Need to try to sleep.. 5AM comes too soon..

Night dear Friends.. and be careful Rus on the roof... I have done a roof before!!! another time will share. but for now I recall it was HOT & HARD. Thanks for the great thread today Rus. Not sure if I will get to your "area" this summer. Usually in summer I get to Ontario at least 5 times. Not looking good this year. Mom's condition is not good for me to be gone long/often. I do love Ontario in general.. esp like the Niagara Peninsula

'Nite, Rus! Thank you for all your hard work on Military Monday! It has been great! Can't honor our heroes too much!

Rest well--we'll see ya next time--for coffee, or in my case, hot tea! Sweet dreams!

Pray for my son--he is on his way to the Middle Ease as we speak! Will be out to sea over there for the next couple of months--even if he is in the Air Force! (figure that one out! LOL!)

No Alteration Needed

Read:
Jeremiah 36:20-26

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God. —2 Timothy 3:16

Bible In One Year: 2 Kings 14:26-29, Amos 1-3

cover In every era there has been a spirit of the age that challenges our acceptance of Scripture. The temptation is to remove or alter those portions that seem old-fashioned.

Whether it's the doctrine of hell or God's view on sexual behavior, many feel pressured to reject parts of the Bible. Inevitably, some truths will be offensive in every day and age.

Centuries ago, a Jewish king was handed a scroll with a message from God. As the document was read aloud, the king took offense, and with a small knife he cut out a portion of the scroll and threw it into the fire. Eventually the entire text was thrown into the flames, yet the king and his servants who had heard the words of the Lord "were not afraid" (Jeremiah 36:24). In the end, the king lost his kingdom because of his disobedience.

When we selectively edit the Bible to suit our fancy, or neglect its teachings, we show that we do not fear God. Rather than submit to what He says, we exalt our own finite reason and fallible conscience above the inspired text.

When you're tempted to overlook or ignore a portion of the Word of God, remember: "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God" (2 Timothy 3:16). It tells us all we need to know to live a life that pleases Him. —Dennis Fisher

What is the meaning of life here on earth?
What is its purpose, and what is its worth?
God has the answers in His holy book;
That is the first and the best place to look. —Hess

In a changing world, you can trust God's unchanging Word.

A little bit off-topic but I have to say.

After researching the history of Iraq, I realize that I'm walking on some of the same land that Adam and Eve, Abraham, Noah, and Jesus himself has walked upon. I am both humbled and more aware of my purpose here because of it. Evil will not stand--the LORD will not let it.

It must be awesome to walk on such sacred turf.

Think the Lord wants us to remember our beginnings in order to better understand where we're going.
Five Justices got alot of people thinking about what direction they want their Country to go in. Just saw a Poll on Fox where 90 percent of American's disagreed with the SCOTUS ruling on the TC's yesterday.
