This says nothing about General Washington, but much about the ignorance of Americans (that vote on the Discovery Channel, anyway).

Agreed. Washington was far and away the most important President this country ever had, and its greatest military leader. He could have kept the country a monarchy. He did not.

Nobody else is on the same plane. And here we have Reagan, not even the greatest president of the last century, atop Washington. The presence of Lincoln and MLKboy ahead of Washington are proof positive that the public-educated American people couldn't judge a beauty contest, let alone history, without checking with the NEA first.
