Just curious... Why Lincoln? What he did was probably illegal. He determined that once a state enters the union it is not free to leave. Freeing the slaves was something of an excuse used but not the moral justification for the war between the states. If he hadn't been assassinated he might be looked at with less fondness.

Washington has to be #1 because he was a good General and was rewarded for his efforts by being the first CIC? That hardly rates considering other men--not him--defined our nation by actually crafting the founding documents.

I voted for Reagan because America was in crisis of morale, evaporated trust in its leadership, crisis in economics and faced an enemy worse than the Islamo fascists we battle today. He got Americans back on their feet and feeling the spirit of Americanism once again. He survived an assassin's bullet. Got the economy moving. Rightly defied communism with the clarity of purpose that ensured its destruction rather than continued co-existence. He was America.

If the South had been allowed to secede the world would be a very different place.

The United States of America would not be a superpower, just another country in the second tier of nations along with France.

The Confederate States of America would be a third-rate country in the same league as Brazil or south Africa.
