FORWARD OPERATING BASE KALSU , Iraq – Soldiers of the 150th Engineer Battalion, 155th Brigade Combat Team, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward) detained 25 suspected terrorists and uncovered five weapons caches during an operation in Ojeer al Sharqi.
Items seized and subsequently destroyed include:
(573) Mortar rounds
(37) Rockets
(3) 155mm artillery rounds
(14) Rocket propelled grenades
(24) Land mines
(80) Hand grenades
(1000) Feet of time fuse
(105) Projectile fuses
(22) Cans of small arms ammunition
(2) 81mm mortar systems
(2) 70 lb bags of bulk explosive
(1) Can of hand grenade fuses
(1) Rocket propelled grenade launcher
(1) 40 lb shape charge
(1) Milan anti-tank missile
(1) SA-7B guided missile
(1) 14.5mm anti-aircraft gun
The 155th BCT is a U.S. Army unit assigned to II Marine Expeditionary Force (Fwd) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Large artillery rounds are what the terrorists use to create the more powerful car bombs. Most likely this is what was used in the attack the other day that killed the female Marines.

Some of those soldiers you shuttled might have been my relatives. Thank you for your service. This old tanker wishes he was thirty years younger so he could go there and put steel on target. Hoo-ah!
The fact that you never served does not answer the question I asked. Did you read the article before you posted it? It goes deeper than my question. More and more it seems the Marine PR machine and military wannabes would like everyone to think the Marines are the only people we have out there.
You are definitely right about the Marine PR machine. More than once I was asked by ignorant civilians if I was a Marine, even though "U.S. ARMY" was displayed prominently above the left breast pocket of my BDU jacket. My late uncle, who was a World War II veteran, used to joke that a Marine rifle squad was made up of ten riflemen, a journalist, and a photographer.
Now, before you Marines out there get all huffy, this old cav trooper and tanker has a great deal of respect for you, and he thinks you guys are some of the best fighting men in the world. Oo-rah and Hoo-ah!
