WASHINGTON 'FOX NEWS SUNDAY' HOST CHRIS WALLACE: Good morning again from Fox News in Washington. Let's begin, as always, with a quick check of the latest headlines.
The Sunday Times of London reports that U.S. officials have held two secret meetings with insurgent commanders in Iraq. There were no breakthroughs in efforts to end the violence but more meetings are said to be planned.
New terror attacks in Iraq today. In the most serious incidents, at least 36 people were killed when two suicide bombers attacked locations near the town of Mosul.
And a congressional delegation spent Saturday at the detention center at Guantanamo Bay. One Democrat who has called for the installation to be shut down said conditions have improved, and it was not the prison they had been hearing about for years.
Defense Secretary Rumsfeld and top Pentagon brass were grilled up on Capitol Hill this week about progress on the war in Iraq and treatment of terror prisoners. Our sole guest today is the secretary of defense.
Mr. Secretary, welcome back to "FOX News Sunday."

It would have looked more like Rummy wresteling a drunk neutered steer without horns though.
You know, maybe we aught to go along with the rats on Gitmo. "Yeah, it's a hell hole! It is worse than the concentration camps! The gulags have nothing on Gitmo!" I once reads there was a time where the terrorists were scared to go to Gitmo. Now I am sure they are all hearing what a joke it is. Time to put some fear back into them.
Bump.
I wanted to start a thread on DU: "Teddy Leaves Rumsfeld Dead in the Water!" But I didn't because the site gives me the heeby-jeebies.
excellent point I have yet to see mentioned. The dems have succeeded in forcing us to outline to the world how soft the camp is.
You know, I hadn't seen the hearing, and when I saw the sound bite they ran of Lindsey Graham, I started to get a little bit ticked off at the fair, high-voiced "Senator" from South Carolina!
Graham must somehow think he is going to be able to wield power in the primary of '08! (I doubt he'd run himself, but he may try to be a broker in the state's Republican contest...)
What a laffer....someone needs to inform this smart-aleck that the conservatives elected Bush & Cheney, conservatives elected him, and he needs to start backing up the war effort and stop denigrating it.

Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my FoxFan list. *Warning: This can be a high-volume ping list at times.
Thanks for the ping!
