Where were all of those moaning about this decision about 25 years ago?

Around 25 years ago the City of Detroit siezed an entire neighborhood in order to raze the houses and construct the GM Poletown plant.

That decision was finally overturned by the Michigan Supreme Court, but that was more than 20 years after the deed was done.

Obviously this kinda thing - siezing property for private enterprise - has been going on for a long time.

You are right, it has been going on for a long time. I believe it will go more quickly now. What is to stop a person or corporation with the ear of his elected officials from taking your property or mine? Nothing. Nothing at all, all he has to do is say he will provide more taxes to the government--and when was the last time you heard the government of anything say "No, thanks anyway" to more money.

I am really concerned that there is not more traction on this development, it was all over the web yesterday but now seems to be fading away. If we do nothing, but depend on our States to protect our property, we will rue the day! The Constitution of the United States should rein supreme and anyone who thinks it does not guarantee the rights of free people to own their property, free from seizure by the Government, is brain dead---or has an very unhealthy agenda for the common man.
