You give the scumbag dems musc more credit than they deserve. Thier objective has nothing to do with Iraq. They simply are trying to force W to carve some facts in stone so that, when circumstances change, they can jump up and doen and whine, "Liar, liar!"

There has never been a group of adults more void of ideas that our Congressional dems. The honest one or two among them must be outraged. And, they seem to be incapable of doing ANYTHING positive. An Iraqi timetable is just a GOTCHA tactic. Oh, sure, some of the dems are certainly working for the terrorists but some of them probably are not traitors but are just dumb, stupid, neocommunist anti-Americans. Always remember a dem poster boy for clueless; Elijah Cummungs (sp?) wearing white gloves and carrying a pillow with a crown, helping Rev. Moon become Emperor of the Universe in the US capitol.

I endorse a three way exit strategy. Syria, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Their 2006 strategy seems to be the same old thing:

Say it loud enough and long enough, someone will start to believe it.

IMHO, it will not work this time.

My two cents.

The exit strategy is when the Iraqis can defend themselves and have learned to live with one another.

Those are extremely subjective criteria. That's what makes this different from other military operations, and that's why it doesn't make sense at all to compare this to the Civil War. (Reconstruction, maybe, but not the Civil War itself)
