"Give me a break. Driving people out of their homes isn't quite up there with full-scale slaughter."

During the great famine of 1932-1933 in Ukraine more then six million people died of starvation as a result of being driven from their homes and having their food confiscated by Stalin. By your definition, that wasn't a holocaust either. Would you prefer to wait until millions die?
