I'm glad you agree. If you have time, could you post the ideas on some of the other threads?
I'll have to leave for work in a while and will also work all day Saturday so can't do any good follow-up right now.
AMERICA IS OUTRAGED.
WHERE IS PRESIDENT BUSH?
NOT A WORD.
Yeah! So do I!
Worth repeating over and over and over til all "the law is the law" braindead nitwits (and yes, even many found posting here on this site) get it!
Actually, if the city's tax base hadn't been destroyed by off shore manufacturing, this case would have never arose. Sometimes we got to think long term, vs. a quarterly profit.
Sometimes I wonder how hard some days must be for Scalia, Thomas and Rehnquist. How could they not leave the office utterly disgusted with their colleagues after this one.
Yeah they were just condeming rural proprieties and giving them over to salamanders before that. But developers give better kickbacks.
overtaxt, I prefer Reagan's take on the concept of Federalism:

"Anger"? I fully expect this will lead to bloodshed.

Yeah, blame it on free trade and off shoring. Do you have any info on what factory shut down and made it necessary for the government to take the houses of these nice people? I'll bet it was WalMart's fault.
After I Heard about the decision I was so upset that I wrote this, I'm thinking about sending to the my local paper.
Wake Up America!
Its a sad day in America
Did you hear?
The men and women in black
Just made a decision
The home that you and
I own can now
Be taken from
You and me
Greed and the desire
To develop
Now rules the day
A developer who has
An eye on your property
For a mall or a hotel
Complex can now
Go to the county
With a request
And away your property
Will go
These men and women
Dressed in black
Are not our friends
They have become
The enemy
This is not what
Our founding Fathers
Had in mind
But
When we snooze
We lose
The men and women in
Black are not interpreting
The law
They are writing it
Day by day
Sparrow
Don't you sometimes hate it when you're right?
Scares the Hell out of me.
So what were the circumstances?
Actually, throwing people who are stupid enough to live in old homes into the street to retain US production has some merit, just not enough to trash the US Constitution.
I think it was a terrible decision.
After all, they could have became financial analysts, drove BMW's and avoided all this unpleasantness.
The government picks on poor people. No surprise here.
They ain't SEEN anger yet.
NO question.
NONE.
Exactly. This decision pretty much says, "if they tax it they own it" and can do anything they please. They can condemn your property and take anything they want... TV, couch, whatever.
Then, when and if they pay "compensation" they'll make you pay capital gains tax.
Sorry, but due to the girlieman Republicrat majority, the feeding tube for private property rights has been pulled.
All your property is now theirs.
All your information is now theirs.
All your children are now theirs.
Welcome to the New World Order.
Resistance is futile.
