This deserves some kind of an award for poorly worded headlinesMaybe not. I believe if Islam ever truly understood and/or adopted the principle of Freedom of Religion, it would in fact become tolerant. Think about Iraq, if all the tribes accepted true freedom of religion would there be a problem?

(Thank your God if your society celebrates tolerance at the expense of moral correctness)

"America was founded to see Islam destroyed"
I am doubtful of that much foresight. But I think it is a worthy CRUSADE.

The idea would have to come from themselves also, and that is unlikely at least in our lifetime.

Nor did I. I still find it hard to fathom that we are fighting a religious war in the 21st century.

Perhaps they hate us because they keep attacking is in the name of religion and we keep refusing to admit it ? /sarcasm off
While I don't think we were founded to destroy it I do think that as long as we exist its a worthwile use of our resoruces to relegate it to the realms of history books and liberal arts professors.
