Is Sky-hook Omar behind there?
To: jeepgal
If true, we should just drop a MOAB and be done with it. I don't want to hear about ol' one eye Jack slipping out the back again.

The Taleban deny having lost any of their men.
Who in the Taliban, and FROM WHERE, calls the BBC in real time on this? Please, I really need to know how I can subscribe to the Taliban fax list.

"The BBC's Andrew North in Kabul says doubt has been cast on some of the US military's previous claims about insurgent casualty numbers."
Based on what?? The BBC's need to believe they're not true?? The BBC and its phony reporting that they've been embarrassed and humiliated for in claiming Tony Blair helped cook intelligence on Iraq, hardly makes the BBC a source of credibility or casting doubt on the claims of others.

"All of them were armed. Most were killed by coalition helicopter gunships," he said. A British military spokeswoman, Lt Gemma Fullman, said British planes provided close air support but did not drop any munitions, the AFP news agency reports.
Leave it to the BBC to confuse two totally different operations and use one to repudiate the other.
Helicopter gunships do not drop munitions, and airplanes used for close air support are not gunships.
So two different reports are juxtaposed so as to create controversy, when they have nothing to do with each other, and both statements could stand as totally truthfull on their own merit.
By positioning them this way, the BBC hoped to cast doubt on the first statement in order to support the Taliban's claim of not losing any fighters.

Since the war in Afghanistan is over, I say we buy Pelosi a one way ticket to Kabul. I'll start the funding with $1.
