If this wasn't scripted to trap the Dems, Mehlman never would have had these remarks to repudiate the Dems so quickly. And Scott is a nice guy, but his offensive today isn't typical. he was prepped for this way in advance.

he isn't the most glib person when he is taken by surprise, and his statement WAS glib....LOL
There is a very good chance that this was a setup. I do have to respectively disagree that W and Crew couldn't have found said quotes so fast. Heck, pretty much anyone here in Freeper Land could have done some quick web searches or review files/printouts of liberal rants past and found plenty of ammunition. This was a timid list - there are literally thousands.
In regards to whether this was a setup or not, I would think that no mention of the word "democrat" in the speech and using the "liberal" substitution would be a clear sign.
