Well, their internal polls must be showing that a majority of Americans are still backing our troops, feel that 9/11 was bad, and believe the Jihadists here and around the world are a threat to us.
Otherwise Durbin would have never done his pseudo apology and Chucky wouldn't be so upset.
They are still so arrogant and still believe that they can say anything bad about America, our troops, our president and support the Jihadists without a back lash.
Well it "ain't" working for them anymore with the internet, Fox News, Rush, Sean and other conservative talk show hosts.

Democrats are demanding that White House adviser Karl Rove immediately retract and apologize for comments that liberals responded to the Sept. 11 terrorist strikes by wanting to ``prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.''Subsequent events have proven this statement to be true.
Isn't the truth an absolute defense against any expression of outrage?
I don't see the problem. Can anyone else?

If the Democrats are so insensed by political speech why didn't they have anything to say about Sen. Durbin's remarks????
To: Moral Hazard
That's awfully defensive. He said "liberals" not "Democrats". Do they have a guilty conscience or something? Karl Rove and the Bush administration...

To: truthluva
I have taken the liberty of drafting Rove's apology: "Sorry you were offended"
Yup.

I swear I was looking for the Scrappleface byline on this story. I really thought it was a parody of the Durban thing.
To: Publius6961
But it makes sense, right?
The dumbocrats want the truth retracted!
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
Totally shameless. They have no shame whatsoever. Unbelievable.

Rove apologize? No way. They are still wringing their liberal little hands because we are the oppressors.

In the case that Rove might actually consider issuing an apology, he should just make a copy of Durbin's apologia and alter a few words and hand it to Schumer.

I recall the MSM praising the attackers. Do you recall that Politically Correct idiot calling them "Courageous and Heros?"

Exactly right, Pogy.
At a minimum, the WH should laugh at this "demand" for a retraction. At best, McClellan should get out there and say "apologize for telling the truth, I don't think so. If the shoe fits, Nancy, WEAR IT. Next question."
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
He**, the dems are still the same now as they were then. Only now we can't coddle enemy combatants (read terrorists) enough.
'Tis a slippery slope we find ourselves on, with no end in sight!

Firstly, lets have Kerry, Dean, Kennedy, et al apologize for their very over the top comments in recent memory.
Oh yeah, and when is Reid going to apologize for calling the president a liar?

Or perhaps:
"I'm sorry that you liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers."
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.'That's what a typical liberal around here believes. They blame the police for a robbery and then feel sorry for thief because he can't find a job in "Coroporate America".

``The one thing New York has had since Sept. 11 is unity,'' said Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. ``To inject politics into this and to defame a large number of people'' is outrageous, he said. ``It's not what New York and America is all about.'' This ain't exactly a news flash, but Sen. Chuck Schumer is a liar.

What Rove and co need to do is gather the most damning quotes from the most prominent liberals. Then ask the Demo's if those prominent liberals speak for them?
