I have to disagree. These corporate interests are there but very decentralized - lots of local issues. I also dont believe these guys are only in bed with Republicians.

No, it really doesn't matter if the local gov't swings left or right, if they are persuaded by business interests, then property rights will obviously be discarded at will. I would have to say that the retail/corporate interests that are strong-arming gov'ts are swinging mostly right, tho. Party affiliation really doesn't matter, but their practices are reprehensible.

Oh, no! They hedge their bets -- they spread it around, you bet!

There are biases, but serious businessmen with regulatory issues make sure they give to both sides.

From the street, it looks pretty much like the end of meaningful real property ownership.
