A man on parole and a woman on probation for felony convictions cast one ballot each, even though state law forbids felons under state supervision from voting, according to the criminal complaints in their cases. The woman, Kimberly E. Prude, 41, also worked as an election inspector, even though such workers are required to be qualified to vote, the complaint states.
Also on election day, a third man cast two ballots, registering - and voting - once with his driver's license then repeating the process using his Social Security card as identification, according to a criminal complaint.
The three are the first federal defendants accused of voting-related fraud in Milwaukee County, where two others have been charged in state court on allegations of faking voter-registration cards for money. Neither Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard Frohling nor Milwaukee County District Attorney E. Michael McCann would say whether more charges might be forthcoming in their offices' investigation of possible voter fraud, which began in January.
That effort was announced after a Journal Sentinel investigation found more than 200 felons who apparently voted illegally in Milwaukee because they were still on probation and parole, as well as at least 100 cases of people either voting twice or voting under false identifying information.
The criminal complaints filed Wednesday say that both Prude, who was on probation Nov. 2 for a Waukesha County forgery conviction and has a string of other felony convictions, and Milo Ocasio, 25, who was on parole for a Milwaukee County felony conviction of discharging a firearm from a vehicle, both admitted they voted while serving their sentences.
Ocasio, who signed his rules of supervision just two weeks before the November election, told police he hadn't looked over those rules carefully enough to figure out they barred him from voting, his criminal complaint says. Prude, meanwhile, had signed her probation documents in February 2004 but told police that a woman - unnamed in the complaint - said "not to worry about it because felons vote 'all the time,' " the complaint says.
Enrique Sanders, 25, who is charged with voting twice at Franklin Pierce Elementary School on N. Fratney St., allegedly used a bogus address as his previous residence on one card and told police he registered at the polls after a registration form he filled out at home weeks before the election didn't cause his name to show up on voter rolls. He told police his signature was on both registration cards, according to the complaint.
All three are due back in court July 6 and may be indicted before then, Frohling said.
Funnily enough, the story doesn't mention which party was behind this. Want to bet that if these had voted republican, THAT would have been the headline?
Voter fraud is uniquely the habit of dems- without it I wonder if ANY dem would ever be elected again...
The evil triad: dem party, organized crime and the unions.
So, what has happened to the other case of the three or four young men, Democrat operatives, who slashed the tires of vans rented by the Republican Party for voter rides? Any trial date or action by DA McCann?
I read the article wanting to know if they voted dem or rep. When it became clear that the article wasn't going to identify party affiliation I thought to myself....they must have been dems.
You can bet your sweet bippy that these were D voters. I must say I never thought I would see the day the Feds would file charges on a case like this...
What else did these Rat Felons due while honest people were trying to vote.
Whatever happened there is nothing compared to what happens a few miles south in Chicago.
PING! (note that the charges are federal, not local).
Well, we've got a hang-'em-high US Attorney in Steve Biskupic here. He's put away 3 Milwaukee aldercritters, a former (by a matter of days before conviction) DemonRATic state senator, and assorted nutjobs.
er, they're busing them from Chicago up in my general direction (currently, most of the buses stop in Racine, where the RATs had tables set up to assign each Illinois voter with a person willing to say that they're a Racine, WI resident).
If you have personal knowledge of that, I sure hope you conveyed it to the FBI. The last two Presidential elections in Wisconsin were stolen. If the Governor doesn't sign the ID bill, there shoulc be a march on the capital.
I don't have personal knowledge, though another FReeper does. In fact, it is public knowledge, as it was discussed in depth on the local talk shows.
Well, whoever has personal knowledge should tell it to the feds..cause just telling his friends will not accomplish anyuthing.
