It's getting so depressing to read Steyn's articles, because nobody with the power to do anything right ever does.
Seems like his last couple paragraphs say otherwise. Don't lose heart!
I guess that depends on your POV. IMO, Bush and Howard are both doing the right things. They can't do everything, but they're both doing as much as they can.
Would that the electorates in both countries make sure we have leaders like that for years to come.
It's not so much that "nobody with the power to do anything right ever does."
It's more that a few nitwits put huge obstacles in their way. For example, from Claire Short;
Only really the UN can do that job. It is the only body that has the moral authority.
As long as some people are willing to make any outrageous statement to further a political agenda at any cost, the work of the people trying to move forward will be impeaded.
It's just part of the process.
