Now let me see. Stock dogs work livestock, hunting dogs hunt, blood hounds track people. What does a Pitt Bull do that is a benefit to mankind? The answer is "absolutely nothing!!!!!"
One more time. These dogs are bred and have been bred for hundreds of years to bite and fight. That is what their instincts tell them to do, and that is what they will do in a stressed situation. They kill more children in this country than any other dog, yes they are truly #1 as a killer of babies too. Those are the true and factual published numbers. I'm just glad that this child was rescued before the Pitt Bull killed her. Yes, read the story, that is exactly what happened!!! If it had not been for the child's mother and the two men passing by this little girl would be dead!!!!!
I'll bet the owner of this Pitt Bull says the same thing as the rest, Not my dog, it's sweet and gentle and would never bite anyone. And then they kill!!!!! I think everyone who owns one of these dogs should be required to carry a ten million dollar liability policy. If you want a pet, get a lab or a beagle.

Here's a way to address this issue: Impose strict, absolute liability for a dog proven to be dangerous, the same level of responsibility one would assume for keeping a lion or a tiger. And keep records of repeat-offending dog owners. A lot of these clowns have "small d***" syndrome bad. If they had to face heavy fines and criminal records for negligently keeping a dangerous dog, the better number of them would think twice.

I am still waiting to see the headline. "Mother, daughter attacked by neighbor's Toy Poodle".

I agree with you completely. I did have a nephew who raised a Pitt Bull, for several years, and everyone in the family agreed that this dog was a "sweetheart"- no behavior problems- and it finally died, with no remarkable incidents. But I don't trust them, and I reserve the right to defend myself and my family against them, perhaps even pre-emptively.
