Minneapolis recorded its 27th and 28th homicides on Tuesday, far ahead of the pace of 16 deaths at this time last year.
The dying began early, when, at about 5 p.m., a man was fatally shot in the middle of E. Lake Street, which was filled with pedestrians and commuters.

I think their dopy mayor should quite cutting cops.
A judge there had put a freeze on concealed carry permits until the legislature repassed the bill and the governor re-signed it a couple of weeks ago.The court ordered freeze on shall issue ccw permits had been ongoing since last July.

over in St.Paul, they start dying late compared to that.
Or, about 1/10th of the homicide rate in Detroit.
I'm certain that we'll discover that none of the bad guys in these crimes had a permit.

I lived there in 1995...record year that year.
A lot has changed in Minneapolis over the years. I lived there from '85 to '04.
The influx of crack cocaine and the gangs had much to do with it, as in a number of cities.
Officer Jerry Haaf's murder in the early '90's signaled the beginning of the decline.
It evened out for a few years, but now the takeover by the 'feel-good, tolerance and diversity at all costs' gang led by Mayor Rybak has emboldened the punks in my book.
Poor little Hector or DaShwayne never felt any compassion in their lives. It's all our fault they're that way! Cut the police budget and hire more counselors. Sob!/sarc
