Since neither of us is a touring rock star, we have NO IDEA of the temptations. Sorry to disappoint you about life, but every man, and every woman, is prone to sin. That's why forgiveness exists. If we're all perfect -- who needs it?
So, there's so many more temptations when you are a rock star, so that makes it okay. No, it does not. Yes, he sinned, and is to be forgiven, but dismissing it as okay because there's just so many temptations out there is dangerous thinking.
You're not disappointing me about life, dear. I've seen plenty of it, and plenty of temptation too.
And who said anything about being "perfect" ?
My quibble with you was only over the word, "mistake."
Mistakes are unintentional, like my earlier example of misreading a label. Or like locking your keys in the car.
Cheating on one's spouse is not a "mistake." It's intentional, and it's a wrong moral choice. Something we used to call, quaintly, "sin."
"Sorry to disappoint you about life, but every man, and every woman, is prone to sin. That's why forgiveness exists. If we're all perfect -- who needs it?"
Your rationality stands out in this thread.
