"Plurality elections are such crap"

I'd say that plurality *primaries* are crap, but in a general election I'd rather have a plurality winner than a run-off system. If every state had run-offs if the leader after the first primary was below 50%, it would substantially reduce the number of RINOs elected to office (since they'd be weaned out in the run-off). It would also allow a lot of conservatives to run in the primary without fear of throwing the nomination to a RINO.

Who said I backed Bob Riley? I never said that. I'm not crazy about him either. I'd probably support him over Moore if it came down to it, but that's hardly an ideal situation. I merely said I think Roy Moore is a grandstanding fool who is a lot more bluster then substance, and he doesn't even direct his bluster in a constructive manor.

From my admittedly limited knowledge of the state, I think my #1 choice for Governor would be if Senator Jeff Sessions would run. He's a great Senator, and it seems that Alabama needs someone to straighten it out. He could do that, and then appoint his replacement, which sounds fine to me.

[Etowah County is probably, per capita, the most unionized county in the state]

Interesting. I had wondered why pundits would call Rep Robert Aderholt of the AL-04, a potentially vulnerable incumbent. After all, the AL-04 has the least amount of black voters in AL's Congressional Districts. The fact that unions have a strong presence in the district should make any Republican nervous.
