What's going on in the offices of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals? The same sanctimonious animal-rights group that pleads for donations so it can stop us "blood-thirsty" hunters and fishermen once and for all is in the middle of a smelly affair involving the euthanization of pets picked up at animal shelters. Incidentally, they were pets PETA reportedly promised it would find good homes for. The Associated Press and the Virginian-Pilot newspaper in Norfolk have reported that two Hampton Roads employees of the Norfolk-based PETA were charged in Ahoskie, N.C., with animal cruelty after dumping dead dogs and cats in a shopping center garbage bin. Investigators staked out the bin after discovering dead animals had been dumped there every Wednesday for the past four weeks, Ahoskie police said. Police found 18 dead animals in the trash bin and 13 more in a van registered to PETA. The animals were from shelters in North Carolina's Northampton and Bertie counties, police said. The two were picking up animals to be brought back to PETA headquarters for euthanization, according to PETA president Ingrid Newkirk. Police charged Andrew Benjamin Cook, 24, of Virginia Beach, and Adria Joy Hinkle, 27, of Norfolk, each with 31 felony counts of animal cruelty and eight misdemeanor counts of illegal disposal of dead animals. PETA euthanizes animals by lethal injection, which it considers more humane than gassing groups of animals, as some cash-strapped counties are forced to.

No doubt about it, the PETA people are nuts. Maybe not eating meat is bad for your brain.
Holy cow, dude. Don't act like they're normally very sane, but have gone bad recently.
Peta is by definition a collection of well-funded barking moonbat nutbars....kinda like Scientology, without the clams.
"What's going on in the offices of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals?"
They're a bunch of damn hypocrits and always have been. Why do conservatives support this crap. The Washington Times has backed animal rights as long as I can remember. Animals have no rights other than to taste good. That's it!
actually, there are several chemicals only found in meat that are necessary for proper brain function.
It also corresponds with personal observations that most vegans I know are whacky.
I bet they've been doing this for years. They pick up animals, kill them, and dispose of them. The animals are claimed as having been delivered to good homes, and people donate money to help PETA find more homes for animals in shelters.
Of course, it is a scam, just like Planned Parenthood...
PETA kills kittens. I mean, geez. Any claim to moral superiority goes out the window right there, doesn't it? I drink milk, YOU KILL KITTENS. I win the karma kontest.
So who's lieing? PETA, who says they were bringing them back for euthanization, or the humane society who says PETA told them they were going to find homes for these pets?
hmm, either way you slice it, looks like PETA is...
ROTFLMAO! I sense a protest sign in the making here...
People Eating Tasty Animals. Yeah, it's old, but good!
Golly, it would be very bad if they ever found that PETA was selling dog meat to the Koreans and kitty-cat pelts to the clothing decorators, wouldn't it!
Ben Franklin was a vegetarian.
Then how come so many of our tech jobs are getting outsourced to all those Hindu vegetarians?
I want some PETA clown to tell me how that is "Ethical Treatment" of animals. Now, I know why PETA clowns can support abortion...they don't even respect the lives of the animals the claim they care for or are they jus a front for ELF?
PeTA picks up animals as a Public Relations move. They know that their public reputation is enhanced if people believe they provide "no-kill" pet adoption services. This favorable public perception helps with the fund-raising side of the business, which is the only thing PeTA cares about.
PeTA is a fund-raising operation masquerading as a animal welfare charity. The cute fluffy animals just provide the hook used to separate the Little Ol' Ladies from their money.
(s)Come on folks these animals had a "beautiful and peaceful death".(/s)
Peta is against pet ownership. They think that these animals are better off dead than living a life of "torture" as someone's beloved companion.
PETA is a hideout for angry, disfunctional people who hate society, and who take pleasure in mean and, sometimes, violent acts against human beings. That PETA is considered a terrorist organization by many is no accident.
