If in management...I would use whatever influence at my disposal to work and advise against it. If it went through anyway...because of my opposition, I am afraid my course would already be set and I would at the same time be looking for other opportunities so when the walking papers came I was not caught flat footed.

If a line worker, lower management or mid-management employee...I would look for other options during the run up and tranisition period, arrange for them while continuing to do a good honst job, and then give my notice professionally as soon as I found other employ.
