This comment appears to be in the context of declaring America to be a Christian-only nation, all other religions excluded, in direct opposition to the intent of the Founding Fathers. It's not hatred for abortions, it's hatred of non-Christians.
Sounds very fundie Muslim of him. But then, fundamentalism in any religion produces about the same point of view.
