I thought the exchange student chick's name was Scarlet. I saw Lost in Traslation. Good movie. Wise lady to get away from Cruise.

I knew this one had a head on her shoulders. Now, if Tommy Boy ever tried to convert (The Last Seduction's) Linda Fiorentino, he'd be a dead man.

How quickly everyone here forgets Ms. Scarlett doing a TV ad for John Kerry... ;)

This gives the term director's couch a run for the money.
Let's put you on the meter honey. We'll see if you measure up.
Is Tom intimating that you have to be a Scientologist or you can't co-star with him?
Hmmm, that would open a Pandora's Box wouldn't it.

I'm waiting for Bobby Bowfinger (Steve Martin) to show up with his camera crew to shoot the sci-fi film "Chubby Rain," "starring" Tom Cruise (if you haven't seen "Bowfinger," you won't know what I'm talking about).

Cruise: "Blasted Xenu! I had Scarlett in my grasp!"
ROFL! I'm truly grateful to Cruise for the enjoyment he's given me in the hot boring summer days.

She came out against Bush in last fall's election campaign.
That said, I enjoyed her performance in "Girl With a Pearl Earring". I checked it out of the library for free, not paying any bucks to Hollywood.

I think he tried to get Nicole into the fold, and she wouldn't do it.

I don't understand the comments about her being some kind of intellectual and applauding her action--would YOU have sat there listening to this kook going on for two hours before finding an excuse to leave? After five minutes I'd have said "Can we talk about the movie?" and then left.

Is Tom intimating that you have to be a Scientologist or you can't co-star with him? Well, he used to try saying that you had to be shorter than him to co-star, but that pretty much left him with the Olsen Twins. :)

The only thing I can figure, because she seems bright enough, is that he was disingenuous about where they were going and why. Misleading her. He may not have ranted straight away, afterall, the higher ups were in the next room (oh, so many levels of creepy) and he wanted to get the fish on the hook before reeling her in. Oh, the deception. That has to be it. I wonder what she's thinking? What if she failed to get away on the first or second try? Imagine, being a cast hopeful, and having an entire group interested in you remaining with them. Yikes.
What's next for Tom? Since trying the 'nice' approach of a dinner and pre-casting meet and greet failed, will it be a must-try Scientology session for all the cast hopefuls? They are way too powerful and, despite their shouting that they are a religion, they look less and less like a religion, which most people can tell they aren't, each day.
To: Paul Atreides
She also didn't need the film.
She's doing just fine without his "hellp".

I don't know Paul, after Eyes Wide Shut I'm not sure there's much of anything she wouldn't do.
I hear you though. If so, that's definately a point in her favor.

I wouldn't have gone with him in the first place, if I was she. In fact, I wouldn't go anywhere with ANY $cientologist.
