So what could she possibly have been thinking? Eight weeks ago, bride-to-be Jennifer Wilbanks hopped on a Greyhound bus. She certainly would not have been the first young woman to get cold feet on her way to the altar. But she disappeared without a trace. And the search that followed gripped the nation.
Now, Jennifer and her fiancé, John Mason, finally tell their side of the story. Jennifer has received sympathy from some quarters. But she's also been mocked and ridiculed. And many people are just plain furious about her escapade. Now, speaking out for the first time, Jennifer Wilbanks gives compelling details about the wedding that never was.

Talk about exciting! NOT
If Katie Couric did an interview in a forest, would anyone hear it?
I'll never know, because the story is boring.
And so is Katie, and so is the bride.
Two dindbats and stupid. What a good tueday night on tv.
Hard to imagine her any more cold and vicious to Jennifer.
Please, who really gives a you know what about the RUNNAWAY BRIDE.For my money she should have just kept on running.Withall due respect, don'nt we have more pressing things to discuss and worry about.......Ken Chapman
Who is the bigger loon, Jennifer Wilbanks or Katie Couric?
What a skank. I think the whole thing was a big sellout scam. Did you notice how calm her fiancee was throughout the whole week that she was missing? The two of them concocted this scheme to get that $500k, and Couric played right into it.
Hundreds of brides get cold feet each week.
This is a waste of JimRob's bandwidth.
Braves 5 Marlins 0. YIPPEE!!!!
You call that vicious. You have got to be kidding.
One is a mentally disturbed young woman........you decide which one!!!
You know, I get a sick feeling reading that header. What have we become that we ( rhetorical "we") find that shite interesting/newsworthy. I gag at the thought she is doing a book deal. I want to hurt her so bad I can taste it.
Wilbanks is your typical child inside an adult body. She couldn't commit to finishing college and other admitted commitments. I don't see how she's mature and emotionally stable enough to ever commit to marriage and possible motherhood. She is always running away from adult responsibilities and no coping skills. Way too much baggage cluttered up in her head.
I watched about two minutes. I hate Couric but thought she had the right attitude toward the drama queen who was trying to suck her in like she sucks everyone else into her "issues." They're not even interesting issues. Sheesh.
Wilbanks doesn't have a single problem she didn't create herself. On purpose. To get attention. Typical narcissist. Emotional vampire. She's certainly sucked the life out of her apparently lobotomized fiance who has no expression, no affect at all.
I think she's a dangerous woman. Having played out this runaway drama to the end and emotionally wrecked everyone who cares about her, she might become violent next time. She'd have to to get the same amount of attention.
Those two freaks = bookends.
