Husband Buries Terri Shaivo's Remains

TAMPA, Fla. — Terri Schiavo's (search) husband buried her cremated remains Monday, inscribing on her bronze grave marker "I kept my promise."

The inscription inflamed Schiavo's parents, who had waged a long legal battle to keep their severely brain-damaged daughter alive. They also complained that they had not been notified about the service beforehand.

Michael Schiavo (search) — who said he promised his wife he would not keep her alive artificially — also listed on the bronze grave marker Feb. 25, 1990, as the date his wife "Departed this Earth."

I only saw this today, although written yesterday. I also did a search but didn't see it posted - so I hope it's not a duplicate thread.

It only matters to the "duplicate thread" Nazis out there. What matters to me is that I've not seen it posted before. Good post.

What a piece of work this guy Michael Schiavo is. He does everything that he can to diss and anger his wife's parents. Someone please tell me that I'm wrong when I call Michael Schiavo a cretin. I can not imagine a more unworthy person on the face of this planet. May you rot in Hell Michael Sciavo and when you request that drop of water on your tongue to quench your thirst, I hope that it is denied you.

The inscription inflamed Schiavo's parents

I think that was the point.

I prefer to think he told her that nite when she told him she wanted a divorce that he would kill her first.

I'm not a "Duplicate Thread Nazi" (in fact, I rarely see a previous post, and appreciate it if the item appears more than once), but there was another post here, for those interested in seeing what others have said. -- http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1427607/posts

It's always about him. He even had to put "I" on her gravestone. What a kook...

Terri: "I want a divorce."

Michael: "Over your dead body!"

He kept his promise.

Terri's plot sits next to a fountain and includes both a memorial bench and a marker that would not seem unusual to future visitors to the site, except for a few lines on the already weathered plaque.

Instead of the standard dates of birth and death, the plaque lists February 25, 1990 -- the day of Terri's collapse -- as the date she "departed this earth," and substitutes "At peace March 31, 2005" for the line marking her death. The last line of the plaque reads "I kept my promise," presumably from Michael Schiavo. But the last line on the plaque line may prove to be the most controversial among those who fought to keep Terri alive. Beneath the small image of a dove are the words, "I kept my promise."

Notice already weathered plaque. He couldn't wait til she died.

promised his wife he would not keep her alive artificially

In MS' mind, a fork and spoon are "artificial means."

Indeed. Regardless of how you feel about whether or not Terri's feeding tube should have been, you have to wonder about a man who makes his wife's gravestone a monument to himself.

said he promised his wife he would not keep her alive artificially

I thought he told the court that Terri had told him she never wanted to be kept alive through artificial means, not that he had promised her not to keep her alive artificially. Is he changing his story?

It's a monument to his own self-justification.

I find this utterly disgusting.

By his own admission, Michael never promised that, has stated he didn't really know what she wanted, only later claimed to recall some comment. Whatever, he never promised to dehydrate and starve her to death, another lie, judging from his own comments.

Damn. Should read:

Regardless of how you feel about whether or not Terri's feeding tube should have been pulled .

Exactly, he never said he made a promise to Terri, he just stated she said she would not want to live like that. Good observation!

Right up to the bitter end and beyond, it's still all about Michael Schiavo, apparently. What else than the embodiment of narcissism, selfishness, and the obsessive need for control over another human being could turn his wife's grave marker into a monument to himself?

It says quite a bit about the nature of his defenders.

Yeah right, I'm sure he got down on his knees and made a heartfelt promise to his wife that if she ever went into a vegetative state he would pull the plug. We all do things like that on a regular basis in real life. Now excuse me I'm going to go outside and push a peanut around the building with my nose while counting the flying pigs.

Like burying their daughter in Florida?

If you searched based on your title, you spelled her name wrong - "Shaivo" instead of "Shiavo" and that is probably why you did not see any threads posted already.

No problemo with me as I looked at your thread and also looked at the others that I hadn't read yet.

Terri's alledged husband is the most selfish person I have ever heard of. Apparently, never thinking of anyone but his own selfish agenda and of those who pretend to be compassionate.
