The current Sharia debate up here is interesting and especially so within the Liberal Party.
At one level it has political correctness collapsing under the weight of it's own inherent contradictions with 2 long-time Liberal-backing special interests on an absolute collision course.
Pretty tough for the Liberals to, at the same time, pander to Muslins who want it and radical feminists who are stridently opposed.

Personally, I favor allowing it provided ironclad guarantees are put in place to ensure that whatever bodies it creates have the same powers - no more, no less - than a Catholic Marriage Tribunal.

Aside from believing that this position follows the teachings of my Church, more and more devout Muslims are now coming out publicly against gay marriage and the rest of the radical homosexual agenda while we well know where the sisterhood stands on anything even remotely aimed at preserving and strengthening traditional/conventional families.

Have been waiting for some church official to wade into this for some time..and I glad he did.
Maybe they will excommunicate him.
Mind you I have done sinful things also but Martin
is really opening the doors to soddhom and gommorha.
A guy with this much power should have more moral authority
than the common man who can't make sweeping changes like
this that affect a countries entire population.
Someday martin will realize just how big of a mistake
this is and what kind of pandoras box he opened.
Maybe the opposition will kill it.
This is the only time I can think the bloc serve any
useful purpose. With the liberal agenda it is probably
good the bloc are there.....sad but true....can't believe I said it!!
