One of the good side-effects of this is that Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Mars) is having a freakin' canniption fit over it!

WE ARE IN THE MIDST OF AN ANARCHIST MOVEMENT SPREADING FROM TMEXICO INTO THE US AND GIVEN A WINK AND A NOD BY THE EMPLOYERS THAT SUPPORT IT.
I posted this to another thread but should be here also:
"The term anarchy comes from the Greek, and essentially means 'no ruler.' Anarchists are people who reject all forms of government or coercive authority, all forms of hierarchy and domination. They are therefore opposed to what the Mexican anarchist Flores Magon called the 'sombre trinity' -- state, capital and the church. Anarchists are thus opposed to both capitalism and to the state, as well as to all forms of religious authority. But anarchists also seek to establish or bring about by varying means, a condition of anarchy, that is, a decentralised society without coercive institutions, a society organised through a federation of voluntary associations." ["Anthropology and Anarchism," pp. 35-41, Anarchy: A Journal of Desire Armed, no. 45, p. 38]

Don't even think for a minute that all Texans, or even a majority see things your way.

Che Lopez compared the volunteers at last night's rally [of the Minutemen] to the Ku Klux Klan.I guess calling them "Nazis" has become too trite.

Thanks for the info. It's good to know that there was no tollerance or "showboating" allowed. It really lends credence to what they are trying to do. Hope it doesn't change.

Don't even think for a minute that all Texans, or even a majority see things your way. I'm speaking as a Californian, and Californians can't wait until the Minuteman project begins here.
To: Happy2BMe
But not all Texans are excited about the presence of the Minutemen in Texas, and one of them is Senator John Cornyn, who this weekend introduced a measure calling for comprehensive changes in border security, and the hiring of 10,000 additional sworn officers of the U.S. Border Patrol.
And just how many illegals are going to cross the border while these "comprehensive changes" and 10,000 new agents get trained and certified Mr. John?
Sometimes you're denser than a rock! The instructions to pour that urine out of your boots is on the heel of your boots.

"What a hideous way to live. It's no different than the inner cities, is it? Parents afraid to send their kids out to play...." ================================
Sad to say - but these conditions have deteriorated to these levels at the most rapid pace under the present regime.
There's a fly in the ointment - A BIG ONE.
(Thanks for the Texas pings all.)

So what's the deal? We sending SJ-L (my Uncongressperson, charged with the sacred duty of voting opposite to my every interest in the House), Queen of the Nile hairdo and all, to Mars?
I'm in for a ticket upgrade. Or maybe some Gloria Steinem audiotapes.

Sheila Jackson Lee got up in Congress and talked about when she watched our astronauts on TV plant the American flag on Mars -
I made up that animated .gif last year of an astronaut holding the American flag on Mars just for SJL -
Just to hard to pass up -
I have a handy flying saucer .gif to go with it if Louis Farrakan starts blabbing his garbage again -
Now what can I come up with for "Mr. Chairman" Conyers?

Now what can I come up with for "Mr. Chairman" Conyers? Gotta photo of the robot Klaatu from The Day the Earth Stood Still?
Or was that Gort?
To: Dog Gone
To be fair, he made that comment before the Minuteman operation began, To be fair, that little fact makes Bush's slur against his countrymen all the more offensive.
He uttered it a full 10 days before the Minutemen began actual patrols and in the presence of two heads of state at a press event garnering worldwide attention.
Shameful.

Gort.
From the screenplay:
KLAATU
(with great urgency)
If anything should happen to me, you must go to Gort. You must give him this message: "Klaatu barada nikto." Please repeat that.
HELEN
(shocked and bewildered,
she repeats nervously)
"Klaatu barada nikto."
KLAATU
(gravely)
Remember those words.
Helen nods, repeating the words soundlessly.
